Now that IMTS 2016 is finally here, it’s important to carefully plan out your trip to get the most out of each day. Running nearly a full week, from September 12-17, 2016, it may seem like there’s more than enough time to see everything – but keep in mind this is a massive show!

Finding the Right Pavilion

If you’re hoping to compare vendors that serve one main function, you’ll need to figure out which pavilion that service is housed under. There are 10 different pavilions, so don’t go in blind, as you can easily lose an entire day looking in the wrong places. Whether you’re looking for additive manufacturing providers, fabricators, or tooling and workholding solutions, they’ll all be at the show, but will be housed in specific areas. Check out the full list online to see where you should be heading first.

Co-Located Shows

As one of the largest manufacturing shows in the world, IMTS brings together hundreds of thousands of professionals all under one roof. To take full advantage of the crowd, there are a number of co-located shows each year. This year, there are 5 co-located shows at IMTS; Industrial Automation North America, Motion Drive & Automation North America, Surface Technology North America, ComVac North America, and Industrial Supply North America. If you are involved with meeting with professionals in any of these sectors, definitely make it a point to check out these shows.

Tradeshow Tips for Exhibitors

If you’re new to exhibiting at a major event like this, IMTS has created a few webinars and videos to help you get sorted. Perhaps most importantly – wear comfortable shoes! You’ll likely be standing and greeting people all day, for 6 days straight, keep that in mind as you pack your bags and get dressed in the morning. But aside from that, you can view all of the expert advice online.
